Everyone Gets This Wrong

You’re going to think I’m crazy for saying this, but helping your people grow doesn’t take a lot of time.

Sure, it takes discipline and intentionality to show up when you don’t feel like it, but it doesn’t take as much time as you are afraid it will.

You’re likely worried you need to make massive investments to make a difference, but you really just need to make small and intentional investments on repeat.

It’s a game of compounding interest.

And the rule with compounding interest is that you need to start early and be relentlessly consistent.

Instead of trying to have a monumental impact on day one, just commit to pursuing intentional, meaningful progress every single week.

A little goes a lot further than you think when you give a little over and over again.

OPPORTUNITY FOR ACTION: At the end of the week, set aside about 3 minutes for every person on your team and ask yourself these three questions: Do they need some encouragement? Do they need some constructive feedback? Do they need a challenge? These answers will be excellent fodder for conversation next week.

My free PDF, “100 Questions for Better 1-1 Meetings,” will help you upgrade the 1-1 conversations with your people so you can easily unearth their hidden potential and uncover valuable insights about your organization. Grab it today!
